Recent data from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery revealed cosmetic procedures nationwide significantly increased last year when compared to 2014, an article of Pantagraph reported on May 6.
Reports said over $13.5 billion in 2015 were spent on various cosmetic surgery procedures. Last year’s cosmetic surgery expenditures reportedly increased by $1.5 billion. The report also shared there has been an increase in surgeries for both women and men in the past five years. One of the most popular cosmetic surgeries last year was fat grafting, or the procedure of redistributing fat from one body part to another. The report noted nonsurgical procedures rapidly increased as well due to the fact that not all procedures are done in hospitals.
